2021 US Masters Preview

2021 US Masters Preview

Traditionally the US Masters represents the real start of the golfing season and this year with our courses starting to reopen it promises to be an event that we look forward to with even more anticipation. Can Rory, under the guidance of new coach Pete Cowen, complete the Grand Slam? Will Bryson DeChambeau overpower the golf course? Or will Jordan Speith emerge from the doldrums to win his fourth major title? We will be investing some of our hard earned cash on the following players.

Bryson DeChambeau 9-1, Victory at Bay Hill, followed up by a third place finish at the Players showed that Bryson’s game is not all about power hitting. His form around the greens and discipline off the tee illustrate a new maturity in his game. This is the man to beat.

Jordan Speith 12-1, The 2015 Champion. Speith hasn’t won anywhere around the world since the Open Championship of 2017. He loves the course and the relative freedom it gives him off the tee. A great competitor under pressure. Definitely worth an each way bet.

Patrick Reed 25-1, The 2018 Champion. Reed may not be everyone’s cup of tea but he should never be underestimated as a world class player. Victory at Torrey Pines this year underlines his form and makes him great value at 25-1.

Matt Jones 125-1, Jones is coming off a recent victory at the Honda Classic where his right to left ball flight was an advantage as it will also be at Augusta. He has only made one other appearance at the Masters, when he missed the cut in 2014. Form is a massive advantage heading into a major and I think he could surprise a few of the favourites.
