Is now the time to have a punt on the Masters?

Whilst the 2020 US Masters will not be played until April, it is worth considering investing some of your hard earned cash now. If you feel for example that Jordan Speith (winner in 2015) is going to have a big year he represents great value at 24-1. Speith’s odds are traditionally around 12-1 and he will be this type of price if he wins an early season event on the PGA Tour. The Masters unlike all the other majors is played on the same course each year, giving you a good guide to who should perform well. Three time winner Phil Mickelson is 94-1 and two time winner Bubba Watson 69-1. These two may be past their best but they still win around a course where experience led Nicklaus to victory in 86, Faldo in 96 and Woods last year. From a local standpoint, Rory McIlroy is 9-1 which isn’t great value considering the pressure on him to complete the career grand slam. Amongst the favorites, defending champion Tiger Woods is 13-1, with World number one Brooks Koepka 12-1. If you want a few outsiders to back, take a look at former World number one Jason Day, who has four top ten finishes since 2011, he is available at 49-1. Current US Open champion Gary Woodland is 69-1 and 2017 Champion Sergio Garcia is 99-1. Whoever you decide to back remember these prices will fluctuate depending on how your player performs over the next couple of months. Good Luck.
